The assessment and activity library work without an account. An invited account enables optional AI suggestions and manual cloud backup.
What stays in your browser
Your 50 assessment answers, results, activity preferences and drafts, selected goal, saved and dismissed activities, generated activity cards, pending activity feedback, and progress are stored in this browser. Signing in does not automatically upload or sync them across browsers, devices, or accounts. Anyone using this browser profile may be able to view them. Clearing browser data or losing the device can remove progress you have not backed up.
Manual cloud backup and restore
When you choose Back up this browser on Account, Path Five uploads a copy of your browser profile, including assessment answers and activity data, to a private record linked to your signed-in account. Each backup replaces that account’s previous cloud copy; future changes are not uploaded automatically. Restore downloads your current account’s backup and, after your confirmation, replaces the profile stored in this browser. There is no automatic merging between devices. You can download a local copy before replacing data, or delete the cloud backup while keeping your browser copy. Other people who use this browser may have contributed to the local profile, so review it before choosing which account to back it up to.
What an account stores
An invited account stores your email, a hash of your sign-in credential, the fact that an invitation was used, a hash of your recovery code, server sessions, and an AI usage record containing request status and token counts. A cloud profile is stored only when you explicitly back up this browser. This preview uses a reusable, randomly generated, high-entropy sign-in code. Password accounts remain supported where password authentication is enabled. Sign-in codes, recovery codes, and passwords are not stored in readable form. Preparing credentials temporarily stores the account email and credential hashes. The confirmation token expires after 15 minutes; expired preparation records are cleaned up when a subsequent preparation request is made, rather than by an automatic database timer. You save the new codes and confirm before they become active.
AI-generated activities
When you choose to create AI suggestions, Path Five sends your selected goal, broad trait bands, activity preferences, brief feedback choices, and previously seen activity titles to OpenAI. It does not send your individual assessment answers, account email, name, or journal entries to the AI model. Requests use a non-identifying safety identifier and disable response storage. Manual cloud backup is a separate action that stores your full profile with Path Five; it does not send the backup to the AI model. You can keep using the reviewed activity library without generating AI suggestions.
Account recovery and deletion
Save your sign-in kit privately, ideally in a password manager. Your sign-in code is reusable and is used each time you log in; your recovery code is only for recovering access if you lose that credential. We do not send either code, verification messages, or reset links by email or text message. Recovery prepares replacement credentials, which you save and confirm before they take effect. Confirming a reset or replacing a sign-in code invalidates the previous credentials and signs out every device. From Account, you can replace your recovery code, manage the credential your account uses, or permanently delete the account. Account deletion also deletes its cloud backup, recovery code, sessions, credential preparations, and AI usage records. Your browser data is separate and can be erased below. Without your sign-in credential or a saved recovery code, this preview cannot restore account access.
Your browser controls
Download your browser data or erase it below. Clearing browser data also removes it. Keep any downloaded copy private. These controls do not delete your cloud backup or server account and do not sign you out. Delete a cloud backup separately from Account if you want to remove that copy too.
Service limits and retention
Shared usage limits can temporarily pause AI suggestions. Server sessions expire after 30 days. Account, cloud backup, and AI usage records remain until you delete the relevant backup or account; the preview does not yet apply an automatic retention period to those records. Usage counters and anonymous hashes of spent invitations may remain after account deletion without your email or assessment answers. A used invitation cannot be reused after deletion.
Private preview
Path Five is an educational preview. A full privacy, safeguarding, and age-appropriate legal review is still needed before public release.
